Set in the heart of Devon's stunning South Hams, Avon Mill offers a perfect venue for relaxed, informal, country-style wedding receptions and intimate gatherings, for up to 60 guests. You can also get married here too, we are licensed for civil marriage ceremonies.
If you would rather marry in church, the nearby picture postcard village of Woodleigh offers a beautiful venue for your service and makes for a lovely drive down the valley to your wedding reception at Avon Mill. You can also marry in Loddiswell church.

Our wedding venue is housed in a former mill, now a suite of buildings in the grounds of Avon Mill, set alongside the banks of the River Avon. Avon Mill is an independently owned, boutique style collection of garden and lifestyle shops, available for your exclusive use from 5.30pm onwards, with ample parking for all your guests.

a great space for the bridal party as an exclusive dressing room and serviced for use for up to 8 people. It is also available for an overnight stay for the bride and groom. Or for family or friends. The accommodation comes with breakfast in our cafe, or served to you in the apartment or on the terrace, on the next morning.

'first floor@avon mill' - a spacious function room
light and airy, perfect for welcome drinks and canapes and/or for dancing later on. The room has direct access to our first floor galleried terrace and garden. It also offers an ideal venue for civil marriage ceremonies. Separate access available without use of stairs/steps to this room and the terrace area.
cafe - cosy, rustic cafe with garden room
perfect for your wedding breakfast or supper. Direct access to our groundfloor terrace, to take advantage of fine weather. It's possible to have the wedding breakfast or welcome drinks served outside. Separate access to this room available without use of stairs/steps.

Wedding facilities at Avon Mill area solely available on a catered basis, using our own, talented, team of cooks and waiting staff. We will put together a delicious, bespoke menu for your wedding breakfast or supper, available as a hot or cold buffet or full sit down meal. We can cater for a high tea, if you prefer, as well as offer a selection of mini meals for children.
Our food is modern and contemporary, with a rustic style. We use the freshest of local, seasonal ingredients, simply and beautifully presented.
We are fully licensed and offer a carefully selected range of reasonably priced, great quality wines, fizz and soft drinks. Alternatively, for a corkage charge, bring your own alcohol. Enjoy!

Wedding photographs are a personal and enduring record of your special day but your wedding photography need not cost the earth. We can introduce you to a range of photographers to capture your your wedding day in the style and to the budget you require. Please ask for further details.
Our tree lined, riverside setting, with a traditional stone bridge, offers a serene and natural countryside backdrop for your wedding photography. You can also use the elegant garden space, tucked away in a secluded spot by the mill suite.
The local area is well served with top quality hair dressers and beauticians, so you and your bridal party can look wonderful from tip to toe.

We often have live music performers at Avon Mill, so have a wide range of artists we can put you in touch with for live music during your wedding breakfast or later in the evening.
If you want to hire a vintage car or vintage bus, or arrange a more unusual form for transport, we will try and help with this too!
A host of accommodation options in the local area caters well for guests who need an overnight stay, from waterside or farm bed and breakfast, self catering holiday cottages, beachside or country hotels, waterside and country inns.
