'Art at Avon Mill' - new for 2012 
 
Our new first floor function suite is home to a seasonal collection of elegant, original and limited edition artworks. 
 
Each collection showcases artists local to the South West, with occasional exhibitors from further afield, and features a mix of amateur and professional artisans. Our collections change three times yearly and open daily, 10am-5pm.  
 
Whilst viewing the 'Art at Avon Mill' collection, why not sit and relax and enjoy a coffee or glass of wine or may be even take lunch, just order from the Cafe below. There are comfy sofas as well as tables and chairs, so you can sit back and soak up the calm and creative atmosphere.

winter collection november-february 2012 
 
Our opening collection of 'Art at Avon Mill' is inspired by the beautiful landscape of the South West and the rural lifestyle that goes with it. Reflections of tranquil land and waterscapes, farming and village perspectives, and the abundant flora and fauna to be found in our stunning coast and countryside. The follow artists are exhibiting their works, featuring oil and watercolours, mixed media and photography.

Katherine Lightfoot 
 
Katherine is very much a Devonian, educated at Kingsbridge Community College and the University of Plymouth, where she studied fine art. 
 
She now lives and works on Dartmoor where she paints primarily large canvases in oil - painting freely, enabling her to capture the tension and movement of her subjects.  
 
She has developed a great following with collectors all over the world.

Nick Bremer, NDD, RAS Cert 
 
Nick lives locally but originally trained at Maidstone Art College, followed by three years at the Royal Academy School, London. He has taught art and design and was formerly Director of Art at Brighton College in Sussex.  
 
He has painted throughout his teaching career, with solo exhibitions in London, Brighton and Oxford.  
 
As an artist, his paintings emphasize the importance of drawing and draughtsmanship.

Anita Reynolds 
 
Anita produced dynamic landscape images using a wide variety of printmaking techniques and mixed media painting.  
 
All her work is developed in her Dartington studio, from sketches on site or from personal responses to poetry.

John Brenton 
 
A sixties child, John grew up and still lives in Cornwall, loving the Cornish coastline. He gained an honours degree in creative arts from Manchester University. 
 
He is an artist who prefers to paint from life, using oils, and aims to express a personal response to each landscape.

Bob Seymour 
 
Having lived in North Devon for the past 35 years, the inspiration from this part of the country has given Bob the opportunity to explore the ever changing seasonal variations of the diverse coastline. 
 
He likes to record these changes through his photographs in a less conventional, somewhat abstract way.

Maggie Smith 
 
Six years on from moving to the South Hams, Maggie is now a member of the Press Gang Printmakers in Salcombe. As well as print making, in its various forms, she also paints and works with ceramics.  
 
Her inspiration comes from the beautiful local surroundings, patchwork fields, ever changing seas, the vast skies and her garden.
